Vigo County Cemetery Books
There are one hundred
twenty-seven (plus) cemeteries in this county. There are a few that
have their own records, so, we have not copied them. We are
concentrating on the older and smaller family sites. We have found
several cemeteries gone, being removed to other places due to coal mines,
area growth, and larger farm lands.
The reader will notice
the township maps have the cemeteries marked whether they are listed in this
publication or not. There will be three volumes to follow this, but it
takes a lot of fence climbing, chigger fighting, and briar dodging to come
up with some of these old forgotten, destroyed, and neglected burial
grounds.
Thanks to those who
have assisted in this project that we started as a hobby.
Not to be copied in
its entirety without permission of compilers.
